North Castle Advisors, LLC (NCA) is a registered investment advisor in New York and Oregon. Our investment philosophy adheres strictly to the idea that free markets are extraordinarily efficient in setting prices. As such, attempts to time markets or trade individual securities are futile, costly and unnecessary. We believe that assuming investment risk is a fact of life if the objective is to produce positive after-tax, after inflation returns. As such, we spend a great deal of time working with clients to find the right level of risk before they invest.
Located in Armonk, New York, NCA is owned and managed by Seth J. Varnhagen, an investment professional with over 25 years experience in financial services. Mr. Varnhagen holds an MBA from Fordham University and has been an avid investor for nearly 35 years. Disillusioned with active management, in 1996 Mr. Varnhagen began using the "efficient markets" investing approach for himself and his family and later, for selected friends and associates.
In creating portfolios for clients, NCA uses mutual funds from Dimensional Fund Advisors and Vanguard as well as exchange traded funds.
